Learn about CBD

Welcome to kings of canna CBD! We know CBD can be confusing, so we are here to help you out with everything you need to know about CBD!

What is CBD?

“CBD” is short for cannabidiol, which is the second most prevalent of the active ingredients of cannabis (marijuana), along with hundreds of others. CBD is in fact an essential element of medical marijuana, but it is derived directly from the hemp plant (marijuana’s cousin if you will).

So if it’s in the marijuana family it’s going to get me high right?

Nope! (There are two possible exceptions to this. the first is that some people, for unknown reasons, just react differently to CBD. about 5% of people say they feel altered after taking CBD. “usually they’re the same people who have side effects from advil or tylenol,” says junella chin, do, an osteopathic physician and a medical cannabis expert for cannabismd.)

The most common misconception about CBD is that it will get you high. the cannabis plant is made up of two main parts: CBD and thc. CBD is the non-psychoactive portion of the plant, so what that means is you won’t have any “euphoria” aka “high” effects. thc is the psychoactive portion that will give you the “high” feeling.
